- There is a clear Yale pennant in the fraternity house as the camera pans down the stairs into the basement. It is the only insignia of a real college at the fictional Faber College (filmed at the University of Oregon).

- In this 1961 Elia Kazan film that introduced moviegoers to Warren Beatty and won Natalie Wood a Best Actress Oscar, two Kansas teenagers in love with one another are tortured by their community's prohibition against premarital sex. Wilma (Wood) goes insane and is committed to a sanitarium, while Bud (Beatty) goes to Yale and gets his rocks off with a local pizza waitress. Warren Betty's pretty classy, so she's probably from Pepe's or Sally's, but he's also a freshman, so she might be from Naples.
- Wall Street
- Chuckie (Chuck Pfeiffer) jokes in the beginning that getting looks like his takes "years of genetics, a Yale education, and the right tailor."
- The Family Guy
- Yale is referenced in the episode "No Chris Left Behind" when a student at Morningwood says, "I'm sweating more than a non-legacy applying to Yale," and Chris is tapped for The Skull and Bones Society by his grandfather.

- Michael Kuzak (Harry Hamlin) went to Yale (not sure if it's Undergrad or Law) and is often shown wearing a Yale sweatshirt.

- Several Simpsons characters, including Montgomery Burns, attended Yale.
- Veronica Mars
- Season 3, Episode 4, "Charlie Don't Surf", When Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni) discovers Harmony Chase's (Laura San Giacomo) husband returning to work late with Carly Hearn (Leanna Campbell), Harmony remembers her husband saying she's the smartest girl he knows and that she went to Yale. Keith points out it was Brown.
- Season 3, Episode 20, "The Bitch is Back", Hearst, the founder of the fictional Hearst College, was a member of the Yale secret society, Skull and Bones. He started a secret society at Hearst and Stanford called, "The Castle."
- The West Wing
- Joshua Lyman (Bradley Whitford) attended Yale Law School.
- It is mentioned in several episodes that Josiah Bartlett (Martin Sheen) was accepted at Yale, but chose Notre Dame instead.
- Season 7, Episode 16, "Election Day (Part I)", Bruno Gianelli (Ron Silver) brought a girl after hours to the campaign headquarters. The girl was "almost" a Yale grad.
- In a Christmas episode of The West Wing, the Whiffenpoofs sing at the White House.
